A northbound Toledo and Ohio Central freight wreck occurred Friday at Otter when a coal car loaded with cinders derailed on Otter run trestle. A wheel flange failure west of Marysville caused the car to stay on track. wrecking train from Columbus helped remove it. No injuries. 9:13 southbound service delayed till repairs completed around 11.

Barn Fire Destroys Zini Beecher’s Barn and Horse
Fire on Friday night destroyed Zini Beecher’s barn on East Sixth Street with a bay driving horse, buggy, harness, hay, and tools. The fire started about 11 15 PM. operator delays hindered alarm transmission. The horse died after inhaling flames. Beecher faced about 500 dollars in losses. Neighbors urged better night telephone service and always burning arc lights for safety.

Splendid Musical Recital At Presbyterian Church
A large audience attended a Thursday evening recital at the Presbyterian church presented by the Musical club featuring Pauline Miller Chapman mezzo soprano, Frank T Chapman pianist, and Harmon Marbold Chapman violinist. Stole Savings Bank and Prisoner in Darby Township
John Langford, an eighteen year old colored man, was jailed on house breaking charges after stealing a savings bank containing 2.10 from Richard Nicol in Darby township. Reform School Stares Them in Face
Edgar Wilkins 14 and Rhue McKitrick 12 were brought before the juvenile court Saturday and lectured for disturbing a party at A. W. Daniels residence on the Southard farm near Oakdale cemetery. A Sunday morning head-on crash west of the trestle near Marysville involved a northbound Hocking Valley freight of 43 empty and 6 loaded cars and a southbound No 43 with 36 cars. Depositions Taken In Hatfield Case Against Local Traction
Attorney Charles C. Kerns of Batavia and State Senator Thorne Baker of Cincinnati examined witnesses in Marysville on the Hatfield v Cincinnati Milford Loveland traction line case. Kerns secured a 3600 judgment for injuries from a guard rail incident as Miss Hatfield was boarding a car, leaving her arm badly injured and possibly crippled for life. The traction company’s attorney Baker appealed the verdict as the case moves through Clermont County court.
