Escaped prisoner Jack McPherson, last seen near his Richfield home, visited his wife in the city for several hours before leaving. Third Elks Firemen game set for Labor Day clash

The third Elks versus Firemen baseball game of the season is scheduled for Labor Day September 4 at 3 pm. Elks, who lost the first two games, rely on manager G Lindemann to teach them strategies while J C Marsh and T A Tack lead the rooting. Firemen vow a hard fight after two defeats. Also notes: a barn fire at Stratford destroyed the barn and a saloon with losses totaling $2,800, and ongoing iron prospecting near Sherry and Rudolph despite no funding yet. A Bucklen’s Arnica Salve testimonial from Te konsha, Mich., compliments its healing power for cuts and burns.
