Local booster C French at the Hotel Pfister in Milwaukee returns from the Isles praising Wisconsin Central’s proposed Superior trunk line. He calls it a major railroad proposition for Wisconsin and the northwest, predicting new carshops and growth, while Superior advances street paving and municipal improvements to revitalize the city.
Mr. G W Fowler of Hightower Alabama recalls a murder trial in Edwardsville where eating fresh and souse meat caused cholera morbus. A pharmacist swapped a different medicine for Chamberlain's Cholera and Diarrhoea Remedy. one dose eased symptoms in five minutes and a second dose cured all three affected jurors. An advertisement claims a cold or cough causes constipation and promotes Kenne dy Laxative Honey and Tar as an effective pleasant cathartic. It asserts the syrup expels colds, cures coughs and bronchial illnesses and is sold by RJ Strauss.

Northwestern lines announce excursion fares for round trips to multiple destinations including Minnesota fairs and Wisconsin shows. Tickets sell at reduced round-trip prices with set validity windows from early September, with return deadlines and agent applications through Chicago and North Western Railway offices.
