Death of Frank Winters in Wallace Idaho
A telegram from Wallace Idaho announced the death of Frank Winters in a Wallace hospital. No cause was given, but his parents Mr. and Mrs. George Winters expect more details today. He was 28, a wood worker formerly at the Evansville and Upham factories, and the remains arrive later this week for local interment.

Three Alarms Hit Local Fire Crew in Five Days
Three fires in five days tested the local fire department with brisk blazes and prompt response preventing heavy losses. On Thursday a fire at Alderman E S Kliner’s Cedar Street home damaged the kitchen, soaked rooms, and scorched Mrs Kliner. origin suspected from a spark near a drying rack. A Sunday chimney fire at Ed Haebig’s Cedar Street home caused dense smoke and slight damage. Monday’s blaze at Mrs Lindsley’s Fourth and Cherry residence started in the garret near the chimney, with significant water damage and some floor burning. full insurance coverage reported.

New Postal Ruling on Post Card Postage
The U S Postal Department issued a ruling to postmasters last Thursday stating that post cards mailed under sealed envelopes are charged at the first class rate of two cents per ounce or fraction. If unsealed envelopes carry the message wholly or partly in writing the rate is first class. if entirely in print the rate is third class, with the stamp on the outer envelope. Stamps seized on cards inside envelopes with an opening exposing the stamp cannot be used for postage.
