Remarkable centenarian in Madison life spans history
Mrs Magdalene Wilcott, guest of Mr and Mrs Simona Cournoyer of Madison, will celebrate her 97th birthday next January 16 with prospects of reaching 100. Born in Canada as Magdalene Rivers, she married in lower Canada, moved to Ontario, then Necedah and Marshfield, Wisconsin. Now 96, she has seven children, 55 grandchildren, 73 great grandchildren, and 185 descendants, recalling wars from 1812 to 1898 and vast technological changes since her birth.

An accident Tuesday morning near Adler crossing delayed work on a new track. The work train engine slid into a ditch on the fresh bed and was lodged in bad shape. Stevens Point wrecking train soon repaired the damage and moved the locomotive back to the main line.

Prominent Pioneer Died In Marshfield Funeral Held Monday
John Joseph Harkin longtime Marshfield resident died at his home Friday noon after a long illness from Brights disease and complications. Funeral held Monday at 8 AM from St John’s Catholic Church with high requiem mass. He was born September 10 1835 in Stratford Canada and settled in Fond du Lac in 1866 later moving to Marshfield. Survived by wife Ellen Welch and three children Dan, Elmer, and Eleanor. many out of town relatives attended.

Fatal motorcycle crash near Grand Rapids claims life of Kamerer
Roy Kamerer, 22, a chauffeur, was killed instantly when a motorcycle carrying Raymond Mullen, 2, became trapped between a wagon and an automobile. Kamerer, employed by retired businessman Nash, rode on the handlebars aboard the bike as the rider attempted to pass a wagon on a hill. The accident left Mullen with minor injuries and Kamerer’s head crushed when the wheel ran him over.
