Two Soldiers Die Of Influenza At Camps
Private Mike Miller, 23, son of Mr and Mrs R Miller of this city, died at Camp Dede Iowa last Wednesday of Spanish influenza. His remains were sent home and interred in Wausau with guard and Owls order members. He is survive by his parents and two half brothers Ben and Isadore. Barney Shays died in Camp Sherman Ohio after influenza and pneumonia. He lived with his parents on Marshfield R F D No. 4 and was born August 1 1886. Remains were brought here for burial Monday.

Allotment Drive Surges as Marshfield Nears Goal

Two Fire Alarms Saturday Reported by City Fire Department
The city fire department responded to two alarms last Saturday. A woods fire near the Avg Bubolz property spread quickly but was contained with neighbor and department aid, causing little damage. A shed at Winona Oil Company caught fire, threatening two large gasoline tanks holding about 10,000 gallons, which were shut off and prevented major damage. the shed was destroyed.
