Weekly Crop Bulletin Reports Mixed Weather and Growing Progress

The week brought mostly favorable weather for crops but frequent showers and some heavy rains slowed farm work. Severe storms caused wind damage in places, with hail limited to small areas. Winter wheat and rye advanced, oats and barley looked good, while moisture hurt ground preparation and germination in low lands. Corn planting neared completion in the south and central areas, potatoes progressed rapidly, tobacco thrived, and pastures remained excellent though frost slightly hurt small fruits. Reports from Chippewa, Schofield, Tomahawk, River Falls, Neillsville, and Neillsville note varied conditions across counties, with many crops in good condition and planting ongoing.
