Red Arrow Days Planned with Parades and Festivities
June 18 and 19 designated as Red Arrow Days in Marshfield feature a full two day program. Military exhibitions, bayonet drills, and reviews headline Thursday with parades led by Mayor Henry Kalsched. White City pavilion, combat demonstrations, barbecue, vaudeville, and dancing fill the schedule as all venues open for uniformed personnel and the public. Columns planned along Central Avenue will display insignias of the 12nd Red Arrow and other forces while efforts to film the events for theaters are noted. Wear the Red Arrow insignia to show support and enjoy continuous entertainment with no work during the celebration.

Wood County Board Sets Big Road Building Plan Vote
The Wood County board approved paving funds of 15,000 for a 0.75 mile Cameron to Klondike concrete road and discussed a 1.4 million bond for a four year county wide road system totaling about 60 miles. A nurse service was rejected though one on the board supported it. The County Council of Defense will be discontinued after bills are paid, and probate salary rises to 80 dollars monthly. The plan, described by the Grand Rapids Tribune, envisions a county wide network linking Marshfield, Pittsville, Babcock, Rudolph and other towns with concrete, all weather roads to improve access and commerce. The final decision rests with county voters.
