Marshfield urged to keep Band Steinmetz and the 127th Infantry Band
Marshfield should secure Bandmaster Steinmetz of the famous 127th Infantry band to remain in the city, turning his fame into a civic asset. Public support and possible city aid are urged to retain the band, ensuring a larger, stronger musical group at Columbia Park celebrations this summer. Local sentiment favors keeping the homegrown unit, with returning World War I veterans ready to support Marshfield’s musical heritage.
