Serious accident wounds Mrs A J Anderson on North Depot Street
Mrs. A J Anderson suffered a deep knee wound when a loose board on a North Depot Street walk tipped, striking her as she returned home from a visit. Rev A J Anderson accompanied her. A doctor sewed the injury and she remains bedridden for some time before recovery.

Red Cross Drive Plans Outlined by Chamber of Commerce
A May 20 whirlwind Red Cross drive will use Chamber of Commerce methods to reach a $7,800 Marsfield quota. Ten Clark leads the effort with vice presidents Hasselbalch Pors and Kestel directing three districts and captains under them. District captains include Adler Dempgen Lange and McPours teams covering Central Avenue to Fifth Street with assigned lieutenants and captains. This marks the chamber’s first full test of its new organization system.

Gauger Alfred Dies Suddenly at Age 20 in City
Alfred Gauger son of Mr and Mrs Ernst Gauger died suddenly Monday after a period of illness. Born July 24 1897 in this city the twenty year old attended high school and was in this year’s graduating class. He is survived by his parents two sisters Clara and Esther and two brothers William and Albert all of this city. Funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at Immanuel's Lutheran church with Rev L Th Thom officiating.

Dedicating Two Flags At Spencer Honors Veterans
Over 1200 people attended the Spencer dedicatory exercises for service and honor flags held on the open main street. Eight Civil War veterans were guests of honor with speakers Harry C. Berger and Rev. J. W. Trish. The Spencer band provided music and the service flag carried thirty six stars, matching the town’s doubled Third Liberty loan quota. A dinner followed at the G A R hall hosted by the Spencer Red Cross chapter.

Scouts Win Ball Game At Pair Grounds 8 To 7
The Pittsville Boy Scouts lost to Marsh Fielders in a Saturday afternoon baseball game at the Pair grounds.
