Mason temple opens as city’s new three story brick building
The north side Third street brick structure, once called the Marsh build ing and post office site, will now be the Masonic Temple. J H Jeffers & Co designed and supervised work. Mike Thelan oversaw masonry. G J Strang contracted. Hans Bille handled interior. The St Louis pressed brick creates an elegant frontage with a square and compass symbol to be carved high. Basement storage, first floor post office space, second floor telephone exchange and offices, and third floor Masonic halls with banquet room and waiting areas are planned.

The Elks lodge plans their annual ball at the armory on Friday evening April 24. Adams orchestra of ten pieces will provide music and the hall will be neatly decorated. Institute Demonstrates City as Agricultural Center
The closing state farmer's institute here last week cemented the city's status as an agricultural hub. Despite poor roads and bad weather, farmers from all directions attended to hear addresses and discussions. The stock sale highlighted the area's growth in farming and grazing, with George H. Westonco leading the planning and C. J. Morrison and C. J. Howard assisting the institute committee.

Mrs Mohr Released in Stevens Point Case
Mrs. Mary Mohr of Stanley was released from custody on charges of obtaining about $700 from Mrs. Susan Bowersock of Stevens Point. The complaint was withdrawn by Mrs. Bowersock. Mohr remains bound for trial on a separate Marathon county charge.

Boy Shot While Hunting Near Omaha Railroad
Paul Schwenke, 16, was accidentally shot in the leg while hunting last Saturday two miles south of town on the Omaha railroad. He and companion Musiel chased a rabbit into a brush pile. Musiel fired a 32 caliber rifle, the bullet deflected off a stone, struck Schwenke above the knee and lodged in the hip. He was taken to town and hospital where surgeons operated but could not locate the bullet.

Blodgett Buys Shorthorns from Grand Rapids Herd
B Blodgett purchased the entire Shorthorn herd of William A Scott of Grand Rapids comprising about thirty head. Scott sold the stock due to time constraints from other business. The cattle will be moved to Blodgett stock farm in this city for arrangement and care.

Republican Caucuses Set for City Wards March 28
Republicans will hold caucuses Saturday night in city wards to elect delegates for the convention at city hall March 30 at 8 PM. The meeting will nominate candidates for Municipal Judge and Justices of the Peace. Caucuses run from 7 to 8 PM at regular voting places.
