Will Griffin in Town Visits Brother from War Service
Will Griffin, who returned to the continent after serving through the Philippine campaigns, arrived Thursday to visit his brother Police man Michael Griffin. A popular former resident, he recounts experiences from the islands and plans to rest before possibly returning to service. He enlisted in Company A during the Spanish-American War, served in Porto Rico, then the Philippines, and was honorably discharged last November after reenlisting.

James Forestal Killed After Crossing Accident
James Forestal foreman of the Northwestern roundhouse was killed at the Wisconsin Central crossing on Central avenue after being dragged by a freight train. He left four children and a wife at the time. a coroner’s jury ruled accidental death. Funeral of Chris Bilse at local cemetery
The funeral for Christian Bil, who died last week in Fresno, arrived Tuesday morning after snow delays. Rev. B A McKinney and the I C C F lodge led the service, with a large local turnout and a city cemetery interment. Pallbearers included Cole, Winch, McMullen, Horn, Rasmussen and Gerwing. Out-of-town attendees came from Waupaca and St Paul. Also noted was a Fisk concert and dance at the armory with a twelve piece orchestra and four specialty artists, tickets 25 and 35 cents for concert and 73 cents for dance.
