A group of Milwaukee women led by Mrs E M Wharfield and Mrs Georgia Hall Quick offer patriotic concert services for Red Cross and Women's Overseas Hospital fund. They have performed in Fond du Lac DePere Oshkosh and will present a July 9 benefit at an unnamed city home with location to be announced.

About 700 babies were examined in Marshfield during a state weigh week led by the Department of Child Welfare under Mrs Milbee. Wards staffed by doctors and volunteers weighed, measured, and analyzed health indicators, with plans to recheck those with contagious diseases in about three weeks.
Monday night into Tuesday dawn saw two petty thefts at local sites. At Farmers Economy, thieves forced a cellar door and another entry door to reach the shop and grabbed 25 cents. Officials note the thieves aimed for small gains rather than larger loot.
The Marshfield Free Library will close at 8 PM on Mondays during July and August instead of 9 PM. This summer schedule change applies to the months off July and August.
