Banditti of the Prairies exposes Haight as unworthy agent
A circulated letter to Secretary of the Treasury Ek Walker, signed by Illinois jurors and Governor Ford’s certificate, charges Edward Bonney’s counterfeiting case and accuses Haight of manipulating indictments to shield the true murderers of Col. Davenport. It claims Haight used influence with Bonney’s prosecutions to defeat justice and favors William Williams in a counterfeiting inquiry.
