Beell Defeats Parker in Tame Wrestling Show

Fred Beell defeats Harvey Parker in a staged wrestling bout at the apera house on Monday evening. Parker at 145 pounds looked lighter than Beell but fought hard, losing two falls to none as Beell dominated with a strong wind hold and ground work. Parker later blamed the strangle hold and hinted at a future rematch around May 1.

Lutheran Conference Set for Marshfield March 4

The Lutheran conference will be held Tuesday and Wednesday next week at Immanuel's Lutheran Schoolhouse in Marshfield with ministers from Wood Clark and Marathon counties expected. Hardware Store Sold In Marshfield Transfer

The Marshfield hardware company and adjoining building were sold Thursday to George Lang Otto Schaynigan and Emil Kliner. The new owners plan an immediate rebrand with Banil Kisher as lead manager and a modernized operation. The Marshfield Bedding company also begins rebuilding after a January fire with a firewall and new factory in short order. The Second Regiment Band hosts a ball at the armory next Monday with prizes and masquerade themes, urging strong attendance.

Institute in Session Draws Large Attendance on Thursday

A farmers institute meeting drew over two hundred attendees as sessions moved to the City Hall assembly room. Conductor Bradley opened with a thorough talk on swine, followed by superintendent Mek examining sheep breeding and market prices, with varied talks on site and silage, economics, and education.

Cherokee lumber mill sees vast cut in February output

V Kantsky, proprietor of the Cherokee store and sawmill, visited town on Tuesday. His Cherokee operations reported a February cut between 750000 and 1001000 feet with a very favorable season for logging. About 300000 feet of logs are banked at the mill.
