Parsifal at Wausau at Grand Opera House

The major theater event of the season comes to Wausau on Saturday January 20 with Parsifal the famed Wagner sacred opera. It plays one night only with reduced rail fares offered for travelers from the city. Curtain rises at 7 45 PM and ends about 11 PM. patrons urged to be seated at start.

Marshfield Brewery Improves Output and Workforce

The Marshfield Brewing company reports a successful year producing about 12 000 barrels of beer in 1905 nearly matching plant capacity. Twenty experienced employees stay on as the firm expands keg and bottle beer for local and state markets. the operation is run with an ice plant and ample staff led by A F Backhaus and Otto Backhaus with Thekla Backhaus and Gust Scheibe handling office duties.

Central Wisconsin State Fair puts debts on note to secure a strong comeback

At a secretariat meeting about thirty stockholders pledged 2500 dollars to cover outstanding premiums and labor claims. By Tuesday all bills were paid, leaving only two notes totaling 4800 dollars secured by local business men. The fair’s value in buildings nearly matches the debt, with January 24 set for the annual meeting to elect officers and set this year’s fair date.

Gallery Practice Scores at Armory Use 22 Calibre Rides

The winter gallery practice of Company A began at the armory last Sunday afternoon with 22 calibre gallery work and revised regulations. Two preliminary shoots were held, including last Sunday and next Sunday, leading to a final where the company competes for prizes. Last Sunday's high six included Priv. Ringletaube 41, Capt. Meyers 39, Corp. Sommers 39, Priv. Warnecke 38, Corp. Kimmerman 58, Priv. Rapp 38.
