Rural carriers deliver mail from Marshfield post office
Five rural carriers out of Marshfield post office handle thousands of pieces monthly. They work six days a week, delivering mail to farms and performing clerical duties such as selling stamps and taking money orders. Over the past three months they delivered 91 522 pieces and filed 372 money order applications, with monthly carrier tallies for October November and December 1906. They are poorly paid for the workload, and the Fourth Assistant Postmaster General has urged a $900 yearly salary increase.

Nellie Boor and Fred Kamps were married at the bride’s parents’ Lime Ridges home near Keetesburg in a relatives-only ceremony led by Rev. Jones of Baraboo. The couple, both prominent locals, will reside in Marshfield after visiting Chilton and possibly touring south. Nellie, a longtime Marshfield resident and stenographer for R. The Ladies Travel Class meets Monday evening at Deming Hall with a program including a ladies quartet.

Soldiers Score High In Indoor Shoot At Armory
The second indoor shoot of the season by Company A at the armory Sunday afternoon produced exceptionally high scores. The high five consisted of Private Huntzicker Corporal Hoerl Captain Meyers Private Abyzer and Private Malter with 45 out of 50.
