Brakeman Injured On Upham Logging Train Near Athens
Robert J. Oudinet of Athens head brakeman on the Upham logging train was severely injured last week Wednesday while attempting a coupling on a bridge near Athens. He slipped and was struck by a sand board on the leg, fracturing the shoulder and bruising the face. He was treated locally, then transported by a special Upham train to a hospital where he received care from Drs. Lathrop and nurses. The Upham Manufacturing Co. arranged the move to ensure comfort, with heated coach and swift, direct service to avoid further distress.

They completed the purchase of the Roshow place south of town through Welton Reynolds for Mrs Pleckham. Kortz Gets Six Months for Larceny of Stamps and Whisky
Paul Kortz a bakery helper in Los Angeles was arrested by Officer Griffin for larceny after confessing to stealing from E P Scheibe and Judge R E Andrews offices over several weeks. He admitted selling whisky and stamps, received about twenty bottles, and was sentenced to six months in county jail. He is a Russian immigrant about thirty years old. Weather dispatches to be posted at county seat flagpole to inform public daily forecasts. Rosa A Dowd and Daisy K Dowd aged eleven and thirteen were sent to the State Industrial School for Girls after admitting theft from Thamas Wright home.
