The 1912 Lenten rules authorize a 9 a.m. Blessing of the Ashes High Mass at St John the Baptist. Lent fasting requires one full meal on fast days except Sundays. Fresh meat permitted at principal meal only except Wednesdays Fridays Ember week Holy Week. Eggs milk cheese allowed. lard usable. Fish and fresh meat not together. Evening repast allowed limited. Ember week vigil days and all Fridays abstain from fresh meat. Working people may obtain dispensation to eat meat once daily on fast days except specified.

High School Falls To Heavier Wallegy Tear In Armory Games
Two star basketball games at the armory drew a large crowd last Friday. In the high school match Wausau defeated Marshfield 28 to 14 with Leonard Schneller officiating. Wausau guards Wright and Evans pressured Marshfield, while Held scored early baskets for the visitors. In the militia game Co. D faced Portage’s seven foot center and pulled ahead to win 41 to 28 after tying 17 all at halftime, with Kohl and Witt strong in the center and Lietier and Christensen leading the forwards.
