At the armory on Thanksgiving night, Company A the Winder edged the high school 15 to 13 in a tight, exciting game. Company led throughout as high school outscored them in field baskets while Company excelled at free throws. Passenger train No 23 on the Northwestern road struck a wagon at White's crossing in Vesper injuring 41 year old boy? and tossing him onto the engine pilot. The boy, son of Dan Johnson, suffered a severe skull fracture but is expected to recover with care. Conductor Mahoney and Engineer Mayberry tried to warn the team as the wagon was driven into the path of the train.

Miss Roland formerly lived here with parents in Rich eld and attended local public schools.

William Ledger Dies After Long Illness in Atlanta Wis
William Ledger former Marshfield resident died in Atlanta Wisconsin after a long illness last Thursday. His remains were brought home for interment with funeral at St John’s church on Monday. He is survived by his wife and three children including Mrs Ledger, daughter of Moses La Belle and sister of Peter La Belle. The bereaved family receive the community’s sympathy as they plan their future in this city.

Laborers from Ashland Refuse Work at Phillips Lumber Camps
Last week thirty laborers were sent from Ashland to Phillips to work for a lumber company. They received free transportation and board but upon arrival refused to work, claiming they play a joke on the lumbermen by getting railroad fare and board for nothing. They were arrested for breaking their contract and securing funds under false pretenses and will be prosecuted as an example to others.
