Excursion to Holy Hill on September Seventh

Shock From Arc Light Injures Electric Worker
Peter Lemahteu, a veteran employee of the light and power service, survived a serious arc light shock last Saturday. While trimming dead arc light circuits, a strong current passed through, burning his left arm and thigh before he regained consciousness. He is now able to move about. The exact cause remains uncertain but wind may have caused the arc wires to contact the primary circuit, with untrimmed trees sometimes forming a connection between wires as a contributing factor.

Baumann Takes A Fliers Return To Marshfield Barber Shop
Frank Baumann, longtime porter at Oscar Lange's barber shop, left Sunday for western harvest work earning eight dollars a day. In St Paul he found grain heavy and chose to return home, resuming his barber duties at about one hundred dollars per month. He bought a ticket for the observation car on a Omaha train and arrived Tuesday morning ready to work. He praises the west but says Marshfield is good enough.

The Marshfield fair last week featured perfect weather and strong attractions. Livestock displays pleased judges with satisfactory premium awards while racing on all three days offered first class competition. Jimmy Ward wowed crowds with four exceptional aeroplane flights. W. W. Noll’s horses Jerry H. and Allie K. Allie X competed, with Allie X winning the 2:13 pace and Jerry H. showing potential for future success. President Ames Secretary Pankow and Treasurer Noll earned praise for their management.

Adler's Opera House announces a star attraction for Wednesday and Thursday August 24 and 29 with the famed Nevara the perfect woman in a classical art pose program drawn from Bible scenes. The act is billed as clean and highly praised by managers of major houses. Felker Bros Mfg Co at the fair grounds displays a sanitary water exhibit with free running water and taps drawing praise from a tuberculosis expert. On Monday Felker Bros installed a new automatic metal stamping machine at their plant to shape tank heater bottoms, cast and made by Lang & Scharman from the company design. Pretty church wedding at German Lutheran Church
A wedding will occur at four this afternoon when Rev. Thom unites Alma Neuenfeldt and Edward Kisten at the German Lutheran Church. The ceremony features ferns decor, white satin gown, and a bridal party with pale green and pink attire. Barn Fire Destroys Richfield Barn Near Klondike
A large barn belonging to Barney Severon south of Klondike in Richfield burned Monday night, consuming all grain and machinery and killing one calf. The cause is unknown but a tramp is suspected.
