Ready for the Fair Promises Grand Central Wisconsin Event

The Central Wisconsin State Fair touts heavy investment and a packed program September 11 to 14 with races stock show balloon ascensions and carnival attractions. A baseball tournament runs each day and prize purses reach $800 to $1000 as top pacers and trotters vie for records. Farmers urged to bring stock to the fair and showcase dairy belt progress.

Death of Mrs. A S Broders

Mrs. A S Broders died at one o'clock last Friday afternoon at her son F A Broders home after four months illness. Funeral conducted at Lutheran church by Rev L Th Thom. Born in Holstein Germany seventy five years ago she came to America twenty four years ago and lived with her son five years in Loyal prior to moving here. Survived by sons F A Broders Henry Broders and Mrs John Parks and a son in Germany.

Lieut Bert McLees Resigns From Militia Post

Bert McLees, longtime leader in the city's militia, resigns as lieutenant of Company 4 to seek election immediately due to impending departure. The resignation is sent to Madison and an election will follow once acted upon. Several candidates study the manual to pass a creditable examination. McLees has been an excellent officer and his departure will be a loss.

Water Supply Warns Against Wasting Water

City officials urge residents to conserve as drought and heat push daily supply toward a 20 000 inhabitant level. Sprinkling lawns and letting taps run excess has risked a water famine, though a new well next year may boost supply beyond current demand.

Marshfield Triumphs Over Stevens Point In Eleven Inning Win

Marshfield defeated Stevens Point 6 to 2 after an eleven inning battle at Stevens Point. Troeh pitched a stellar game with fifteen strikeouts and strong support, while Freita of Eau Claire started for Stevens Point. The Point team plans to strengthen their lineup for a Sunday rematch.

A Pretty Wedding at Bride's Mazomanie Home

A very pretty home wedding was held last Wednesday afternoon at 1 50 o clock. Miss Isabella Ehrhardt married Rev A Hillman of Mazomanie. The ceremony took place at the bride's home on the Bakerville road. Rev William Hillman, the groom’s brother, officiated. Miss Esther Ehrhardt was bridesmaid and Irvine Dragner best man. A wedding dinner followed. The couple left for a wedding trip through Iowa and Illinois and will reside in Mazomanie where the groom has prepared a home.

Mansion House Sold in City Deal

Mr. R. W. Durfee of Vicksburg IVa. completed the purchase of the Mansion House from Jos. F. Deckert last Thursday. Durfee plans to hire a capable manager and begin many improvements at once. Deckert receives 880 acres of timber land in Louisiana and will sell the standing timber before disposing of the land.

Fast Stock Train Executes Weekly Minneapolis to Chicago Run

The Wisconsin Central announces a special fast stock train for live cattle. Departing Minneapolis on Tuesday mornings at 12 10, it will pass at 1 00 p m and reach Chicago by 5 00 a m the next day, operating every Tuesday during the shipping season.
