The Central Wisconsin State Fair association collaborates with Potter & Rice Amusement to stage a week of street fair attractions alongside the agricultural fair. Officials promise orderly, clean shows with major livestock displays, racing and athletic events, and nightly uptown amusements from five o clock.
The fair program promises hourly specials over three days with stock, produce, machinery and art exhibits. Highlights include Dode Fisk’s horse, potter and rice amusement acts, wrestling between Beell and McAuley for $100 and the NW title, plus two afternoon races and several purses. Evening carnivals uptown, military balls, music by the Second Regiment band, and awards finish the program.
City residents urged to support the first annual Central Wisconsin State fair starting next Monday. The piece argues fairs boost farm trade, attract visitors, and raise a town’s profile, urging Marshfield to showcase exhibits and invite outsiders with reduced rail rates to boost attendance.
The famous unbeaten Colby baseball team will visit next Sunday to play the locals in a warm contest. Colby has a clean record this season and is confident, while the locals plan a strong effort to upset the rivals. Game called at 3 o clock with ladies free.
Two big dances will be held during the fair by Company A 2nd Infantry West Nebraska Guards at the armory. The first dance is Tuesday evening and the second is Thursday evening. First class music will be provided and the company boys will ensure everyone has a good time.
