Inspected Company A Receives Praise After Drill Parade

The annual inspection of Company A concluded with compliments from Col. Buck and visiting officers. Soldiers performed manual drill and marching movements with notable poise, followed by a luncheon at Tremont House and a lively social dance. Phonographic Entertainment by Laing in Methodist Church

Awagns 27th and 28th evenings under the Ladies Aid Society present a phonographic show by Prof. Laing of Voronta Canada at the Marahfield Methodist church. The instrument reproduces human voice and music for 1 200 listeners with piano banjo and vocal pieces. Admission 15 and 50 cents.

Attempted Robbery At William Nell Hardware Store

A break in attempt occurred Sunday night at William Nell Hardware Co. a window was pried open with small moulding strips removed and a tool placed to lift the sash. A Newfoundland dog named Ponto was inside guarding the store and likely deterred the intruders. authorities note a similar prior theft of guns a year ago and suspect the robbers knew of the store’s recent gun consignment.

Camp Ebbe Delightful Week At Yellow River Camp

Last week the Beattie White and Judson families spent time at Camp Ebbe two miles west of Bakerville on the Yellow river. The camping party enjoyed shade under elm trees, a canvas tent, and river surroundings with rustic adventures. Grounds keeper Mr Power Pommer praised as a courteous host and plans to add cottages and more bowls for next heated season.

Winninger Family to Perform at Adler's Hall Next Monday

The versatile Winninger family of instrumentalists vocalists and specialty artists present four highlights at Adler's Hall next Monday evening. Assisted by Doc L. Pawrson and Arthur Treiquet the company will have a stage built by Mr Adler. Admission is 24 and 15 cents with a five cent open band good concert before the show.

Cyclones defeat North Side Cornhuskers 17 to 13 in baseball

Baseball items report several games. Cyclones beat the Cornhuskers 17 to 13. McMillan’s Schjefer pitched 23-15 win over March Rapids. Rivals over Maroons 26 to 15 with Warnecka and Cattunach on the Maroons. Marshfield’s Dobyns Viele Ticknor aided Grand Rapids in two games against Wausau, who won 10-12 and 12-18. A Black River Falls visitor game is promised next Sunday at the ball grounds.
