Horse theft leads to Jefferson arrest in Marathon county
An Amherst buyer paid $100 for a horse stolen from Paul Oertel of Day town near Rozellville. Joe Schaffer Jr of Marshfield admitted stealing the horse to fund marriage plans and was jailed in Wausau after identification by Marathon county and Jefferson officers.

Mins Rosilia Bille and Victor L Morisette of Hatley wed at the bride’s parents home on a Wednesday evening. The ceremony under woodbine and white carnations featured relatives and intimate friends with a canopy and wedding march by Chas Kendall and Theo Steinmetz. Attendants included Mayo Mariette and F Marshall of Wausau, with Miss Nyria Gile as ring bearer. Roddis Veneer Plant Expands To Meet Demand
Roddis Lumber and Veneer announces a large addition to its Marshfield plant, three stories high and 108 by 32 feet. The first floor becomes the shipping dept, second floor houses finishing for fine woods, and the third floor serves as a dry room. Masons are at work on piers. the expansion will boost capacity and employment, benefiting the town. Attorney H. H. Manson, of Wausau, plans to plat about ten acres south of the old chair factory for fifty five building lots, grading streets and adding sidewalks ahead of sale.
