An advertisement by Dr Turbin promises no charge for initial consultation and outlines his claims to cure rheumatism enlarged veins fistula piles kidney bladder and lingering ailments. He invites dissatisfied patients to visit his office and promises safe quick permanent cure with reasonable charges for complete treatment. A separate municipal notice discusses water main work and request for reimbursement by the city.
The common council of Marshfield Wisconsin held an August 1907 meeting with mayor presiding. Attendees included Aldermen Rubsteck Pollard Connor Pinney Welton Eggebrecht Nol Marx and June. Several petitions from residents addressed water mains street improvements and a brick building project with requests to connect new warehouses to the Wisconsin Central Railway. The council reviewed appointments and confirmed a library board vacancy.
Report of street commissioner for the month of July cites salaries and fees to named officials. Aldermen approve payment out of the road fund and authorize the city clerk to issue orders. Board of Public Works directed to address sewer tank issue and hire a capable man for around and inspect sewers. Meeting adjourned with aye votes.

The sign uses 3200 lamps and features an 18 by 14 foot Oliver and Works lettering with a central 42 foot high trademark. Powered by the plant’s own power station on the St Joseph River, it consumes turbine capacity to illuminate for miles. Travelers along nearby rail lines can view the pillar of fire by night as a tribute to the plant’s enterprise. Also an ad offers Gen tare stock exchange at 2500 dollars with easy terms or trade for farm or house.
