Death of J. J. Dumas in St. Joseph's hospital
J. J. Dumas dies after a lingering illness of several months from Bright's disease at St. Joseph's hospital early last Tuesday. An old resident born in 1825 in Canada, he lived in California during the gold rush and mined near Sacramento before settling in the East. Survived by two wives and ten children, funeral held at St. John's Catholic church with Rev. Fr. Eisen officiating.
