Band Arrangements for Second Regiment Leader Pending
No successor chosen for Prof Bliss as leader and director of the Second Regiment band. Prof A P Adams of Delafield will arrive in June to direct rehearsals while the regiment camps at Camp Douglas. Adams will return to St Johns Academy in fall. After the Kamp return, Theodore A Steinmetz may become director. he is a skilled musician with long band experience. The band aims to become a strictly home institution.

U C T Plans Oshkosh Grand Council Attendees
The United Commercial Travelers local council will likely send a delegation to the Oshkosh grand council on Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10. At least twenty Marshfield travelers are expected, with a special car to be chartered if the target is reached. Isaac Brody was elected the local council delegate.

The annual Ladies Travel Class banquet at Deming hall Thursday evening impressed with beautiful decorations a red white and blue color scheme and a splendid menu. Covers were set for ninety with toasts and varied course offerings. The service was led by head waitress Miss Helen Connor and a committee of waitresses. Forest fires north of town threatened Welter's mill but were contained by prompt bucket brigades. Nearby Upham Manufacturing logs suffered seventy thousand feet burned. County Clerk George W. Davis calls a special May session of the county board at Grand Rapids to organize the new board and appoint committees with local supervisors attending.

Eastern Star Entertains at Stevens Point Visit
The Yeratt Chapter O hosted thirty-one guests from Stevens Point on Wednesday evening. Visitors arrived at 6 15 and were escorted to the Masonic Temple for a fine banquet. Afterward a lodge meeting demonstrated initiatory work and the evening ended with social time, guests leaving at 1 25.
