Cow Killed by Northwestern Train in Odd Incident
City Clerk M. G. Fleckenstein reports a grade Guernsey cow, milk producer, killed by a midnight Northwestern train last Thursday night. The cow, chained to her manger and barred in her stall, apparently slipped the chain or was released and wandered onto the tracks just as the train approached, resulting in a fatality named Bossy. The loss comes as strawberry season nears.
