About thirty prominent central and northern Wisconsin land owners met at the Elks club to form the Wisconsin Development association. G D Jones was temporary chairman, Geo A Reynolds secretary, with a 100 dollar membership and a plan to hire salaried secretary and multiple committees. The group aims to attract settlers by contrasting climate and soil with the west and to fund extensive advertising.

Trout Season Opens in Wisconsin Fishing Season Begins

Ferdinand Hopp Injured In Yard By Bullet
Ferdinand Hopp of Northwestern railroad suffered a bullet wound to the left arm while placing switch lights and danger signals in the company yard. He felt a sharp impact near the shoulder after hanging a signal near the brewery and found the bullet lodged in the arm. He heard no report. investigators consider accidental discharge possible. Also reported are several birth notices: a son born to John Nikalai and wife, a daughter to Henry Kuemichael, a daughter to Chas Genett of Spencer, a son to Anton Weit, a son to Matt Pfeiffer, and a daughter to Emil Kilner.

He is considering contracts with nearby farmers to ship their cream to Marshfield where he operates a churning station.
