Close vote reshapes city council with seven Republicans
The Tuesday municipal election yielded tight results as voter turnout lagged. Chas Marches will replace Martin Adler to form a seven Republican, five Democrat council, with several supervisory changes including J. C. Hayward succeeding B. F. Mechler and Peter Bever replacing John Juno. Judicial and city officers saw mixed support amid a light overall ballot. The county town results list elected officials in Eau Pleine and nearby communities, while a Federation of Women’s Clubs convention heads to Wausau with notable attendees such as Ellen Sabin and Lutie Stearns.
