In Tuesday's city election Robert Connor narrowly defeated Albert G. Felker to secure the mayoralty. Ward results show Connor leading in most districts with varying margins. Final tallies list Connor 613 to Felker 540 for mayor, and include ward by ward votes for treasurer assessor constables and aldermen.

Electric shock injures Strauss drug clerk

Miss Gusta Esselman saleslady at Strauss drug store received a severe shock Monday afternoon when her hand touched a charged electric cigar lighter rod due to a defective current. She was unable to release herself for moments and was prostrated before Alderman John Inne helped her home. She returned to duty the next day, shaken but unharmed.

Death of Joseph Wettstein in First Ward

Joseph Wettstein a prominent First Ward resident died of heart trouble at his home Sunday night after a day downtown. He was fifty two, a well driller by trade, and survived by his widow and four children. Funeral set for Thursday afternoon from the home under the EFU.

Locomotive Derailment Delays Freight Train at Seo Yards

A locomotive derailed Sunday around ten in Seo yards on the round house switch. A wrecking crew from Stevens Point was sent to repair the damage. Engineer Patitz jumped from the cab as wheels left the rails and escaped with a severely sprained ankle. The engine was hauling an extra freight.

The Stevens Point Journal reports a Stevens Point Boy Scouts exhibition tied to a Marshfield versus Stevens Point basketball game.
