Quiet City Election Makes Shift In Council
Residents observed a mild election with little enthusiasm. Ward contests were few. Kliner ran an independent campaign in the Fourth Ward while Ames supporters yielded under pressure. New council members Pollard Welton and Kliner are regarded as capable, independent business figures. Captain Ames and Schroeder, both ex-aldermen, will bolster the board. Marshall topped for supreme justice with 213 votes. County results show Robert Morris elected county superintendent by a large majority.
