Village life and cooperative farming schemes proposed
A discussion notes that rural villagers gain city benefits through farm colonies like Avon and a French model near Minneapolis. It describes cooperative farming, shared land and machinery, and village living with modern amenities. It also covers uniform state divorce laws, tax and voting issues, and a bicycle lawn mower invention. A proposed East River land fill to unite New York and Brooklyn is explored with a $130,000,000 estimate.

The piece shifts to a historical shipboard accident where the Barcast cruiser sinks after a signal-light failure, caused by engine shutdown to save a sailor. A health reminder touts Hood's Sarsaparilla for autumn illness prevention, followed by local ads for Bologna sausage, Frankforts, and canned goods.
