St. Marys Falls Canal and Lockage Progress Report
A detailed historic account outlines the 1862 grant of 750000 acres to Michigan, the 1880s St. Marys Falls canal project, two chamber locks of vast size, water management via butterfly valves and culverts, and the massive 24000000 dollar scope of the new lock and enlarged canal. It notes construction delays, engineering feats, and the site’s significance among global canal works.
