Bigue pug and Sige were found guilty yesterday and received three years at Jackson. Moses Reese was convicted of assault and battery after being caught stealing chickens and drawing a revolver on a woman who pursued him.

October session of county board at court house
The board of supervisors met at the courthouse at 2 PM Monday for their annual October session. All members except W. M. Alterston of Athens were present. George Peet of Battle Creek township was made temporary chairman. E. W. Moore of Battle Creek elected permanent chair. Rules from 1898 adopted. Judge Smith spoke on repairs to the court house including adding a basement toilet and improving acoustics. suggested partitioning the courtroom. Standing committees were appointed including Public Buildings, Ways and Means, Fines and Penalties, and more. Auditor General’s statement showed total state tax apportioned to the county as 819,777,325, noted for the Ways and Means committee.
