Ocean Mail Service to end fixed contracts in 1884
London reports Postmaster General Fawcett says after August 1884 no renewal of current ties for Britain to United States mail conveyance. Mails will run thrice weekly from Queenstown in current style while contracts seek best vessels by monthly additions. Also notes a marriage: Nelson Coats and June Lazenby wed in Myradahl October 1 at Mr. John Hadwin’s residence with Rev. D B Millard officiating.
