James A Way Dead Prodigious Public Figure in Calhous County
The community mourns James A Way a longtime Calhoun County resident and bank employee, died suddenly between 4 and 6:15 pm at his West Mansion Street home after Thanksgiving with Mrs Frink and family. Born in Hebron Connecticut in 1816 he studied at Trinity College Hartford and Michigan Central Railroad work then law. He practiced and later served as station agent and banker before a long tenure at First National Bank of Marshall. He and Anna M Post married in 1863. Edwin C Way, their son, is a Chicago Western agent for Daniel Scotten & Co. He was active in Democratic politics and local government and philanthropy. Funeral set for Trinity Church Sunday at 2:30 pm.
