In Concorp Illinois on November 2 a triple murder shocked Laconia. James Ruddy, his son Lawrence, and a visiting woman were slain. a neighbor, Mrs Ford, was mutilated and sent to a trunk. The house was set on fire to conceal the crime. Thomas Salmon was arrested, suspected of insanity and the killings.

Sojourner Truth died yesterday morning at three o'clock in Barrick Creux Michigan aged about 170.
