Death of Marshall Pioneer Thomas Cassidy
Thomas Cassidy died at his Veronastreet residence on May 12. A Marshall pioneer since 1837, he survived cholera aboard a migrant ship and walked from Detroit to Marshall after Montreal. He married Miss Mary Malfe and built a life in Lee township before moving to the city in 1863. Widowed with seven children, Cassidy was honored at St Mary’s church. Homer pioneer Jas Worthington died suddenly at Spencerport after a California sojourn, active in county democracy.
