The week of the Calhoun County Sunday School association shows progress with nine conventions held across Pennfield Angus Witis Utisburg Fredonia Eckford Hamer and Battle Creek. A district convention is planned at the Baptist church in this city on Tuesday May 2 with a general summer rally for Sunday school workers countywide and a folder issued for free distribution. The banner will be awarded at the county convention and details are printed in the SS folders.

Robbers At Work In Local Night Burglary Spree
A string of robberies uncovered Tuesday morning saw four houses entered during the previous night. At F W Dickey’s residence valuables including diamond rings, heirloom spoons, and a pair of shoes vanished, with entry through a parlor window. Matt Grace’s home yielded a gold watch and coins. M B Powell unknowingly donated pants and eight cents. George Perrott’s place was raided for beverages and provisions as burglars moved through the cellar. Local cracksmen, familiar with the lay of the land, are suspected as the circus-related threat was ruled out.

Drunken Beggar Arrested at Jefferson Street Crossing
