Drinking Women Reform Editorial in Chicago Paper

An editorial in a Chicago morning paper discusses shock at women in a restaurant drinking beer, notes many young women and shop girls drink, argues beer fosters drunkenness among men, cites New York bar rooms for women, and calls for temperance action. It mentions immigrants in Brazil preferring coffee and recalls Hon. D. C. Haskell's death from overwork and smoking, urging independent temperance effort over partisan politics.
