Decoration day exercises under C. Colegiora Post G A R opened at the open house at 10 a m with a well rendered program. Mrs C L Rowley’s poem read by Mrs CLT Cook gained merit, Miss Fannie Cooley’s declamation The Wounded Soldier impressed the audience. Hon F D Newberry of Cul dwater delivered a temperate patriotic address condemning Harvard president Eliot. Music by the K Q M band and Baptist choir complemented the program. Afterward a procession along state street to Oakridge Cemetery featured the Girls Brigade and flowers laid on graves by the Mukle family reunion events followed in the afternoon with three generations gathering at Mrs Jeremiah Hinkle’s home to celebrate her 63rd birthday.
