Wreck of Train No. 9 Blamed on Deliberate Rails Tampering
Detroit June 1. Michigan Central officials blame the wrecking of train No. 5 east of Ridgetown Ontario on deliberate track tampering. Engineer Quinlan and Fireman Oakes of St Thomas were killed when their locomotive overturned. No passengers were injured as cars stayed on the rails. Examination shows missing spikes and fish plates, a broken crew headquarters nearby, and missing steel bar and wrench indicating tool sources.
