Marshall Ward Republican Caucuses Protest Meet
The Republican party of Marshall wards holds caucuses on Tuesday July 17 at 7 30 pm to nominate delegates for the county convention July 25 and the state nominating convention at Grand Rapids. Delegates allocated: First Ward Patterson office, Second Ward Water Works, Third Ward Dr Marshall, Fourth Ward J M Hatch. Burlington caucus July 19 at 8 pm at town house to elect delegates for county convention July 25. Congis caucus July 2 at 7 pm at Austin school for delegates to county and other conventions in 1894.

A. R. U. Strike Paralyzes Marshall Rail Service
Rail workers including firemen brakemen shop men and a few conductors declare sympathy with the A R U strike and quit. Freight trains are suspended while passenger service continues. A local meeting backed the strike by a vote of 16 with tensions over coal shipments to Grand Trunk and Battle Creek. Some engineers and non union workers exist but the company orders discharge firemen and conductors who struck. A black overcoat lost between residences is noted.
