A Buffalo to Pittsburgh Mail Train derailed near Corry at 3:11 PM after leaving 1:29 PM. A twentysix foot plunge from a trestle killed twenty one passengers and crew, with thirty five wounded. Nineteen corpses recovered, many charred. Rescue and medical aid rushed to farmhouses as wreckage burned.

A late night accident on the Indianapolis Peru and Chicago railroad eighteen miles north of the junction left about twenty injured and three fatally.
