Restoration of Notes and Public Meeting on T. M. Railway
In Marshall a public meeting was held at Eagle hall to discuss renewal of notes totaling 70 000 dollars for the Toledo and Milwaukee Railway. Col James E Neal spoke on fire losses in Toledo and urged renewal while officials expressed confidence in Calhoun county citizens to support the project. The gathering adopted a resolution urging renewal and appointed a committee to secure it along with praise for the company’s good faith. Also covered were Christmas observances in several churches with gifts, musical services, and appreciations to church leaders and volunteers. The city council convened with reports on sidewalks, finances, and street safety measures including snowballing and sleigh-riding restrictions.
