Friday Night Fire Destroys Washington House Barn and More
A major blaze Friday night at Page Bros carriage works spread to Dr. W. B. Church residence, the Baptist church, and the Washington house and barn. Firemen saved Engleman dwellings from near-total loss while the Washington building burned to ashes. The Perrinville engine arrived late, but Chief McHugh directed crews to protect surrounding structures. Page Bros. losses near 3000 with insurance about 800.
