Marshall council debates street occupancy and city band needs
The Marshall council hears petitions to allow land occupation west of Kalamarda Avenue for shade trees, notes past uses on the block, and invites city review. It approves funds to form a city band with city control of instruments and stamps. It also authorizes purchasing 500 feet of Eureka hose, finds hose storage and maintenance issues, and discusses bonds and assessments for the fire department.

A large Odd Fellows parade and address celebrated Odd Fellowship in Marshall. A procession from the depot welcomed visitors from Jackson Albion Galesburg Homer Bellevue Olivet and Springport plus many Grand officers from Ann Arbor Kalamazoo and other cities. The day featured a speech on Odd Fellowship its origins and growth in America followed by a banquet at Eagle hall and an evening dance.
