Washington April 24 reports outline the bankruptcy bill creating district and circuit courts with clerks trustees and supervisors, setting bonds and fees, and defining acts of bankruptcy. It also covers exemptions, penalties for fraud, and the establishment of a supervision system across judicial districts.
The Iowa State Brewers Association met in Busumoton on April 24 and agreed to levy two dollars per hundred barrels sold last year to fund testing the effectiveness of prohibitory resolutions. Resolutions endorsed a prudent sales tax and enforcement approach as the practical solution to the liquor question.
The Illinois Railroad and Warehouse Commission decides that a shipper with one car load is entitled to the same rate as if he had one hundred, and that competition is not sufficient reason to justify a lower rate to a given point. Mantous Wisconsin April 22 The State Fish Hatchery plans a full 1 800 000 trout fry this spring with most already sent to Wisconsin regions. Madison Hatchery will ship 290 000 McCloud and Mountain trout, while Milwaukee branch released 17 000 000 whitefish for Lake Michigan stocking at Milwaukee and Escanaba.
